What a guest who uses a wheelchair, or who does not hear or see well, needs to know before booking. If you need more detail than this, call or write and we will measure it for you.
The Garden Room
- On the ground floor, step-free from the car park and the breakfast room.
- Doors 36 inches clear; a five-foot turning space beside the bed.
- Bed 23 inches high, open beneath, with space on both sides.
- Roll-in shower with no lip, a fold-down seat, a hand-held shower and grab bars; the toilet has grab bars on both sides.
- The closet rail is at 48 inches.
Getting in
- One van-accessible space by the garden door, on level paving.
- A ramp of 1 in 14 with handrails on both sides, 48 inches wide, to the garden door.
- The front door has two steps; the garden door is the step-free way in.
Inside the house
- The breakfast room and the garden terrace are step-free from the Garden Room.
- The parlour is two steps up; we have a portable ramp for it.
- The other six rooms are up one or two flights. There is no lift.
Hearing and sight
- A visual and vibrating alarm kit for any room, on request.
- Television with captions in every room.
- The breakfast menu in large print, and read aloud if you like.
Service animals
- Welcome in every room and at the table, with no charge.
