Terms, in plain words

Updated 8 October 2026. These are the terms on which Blue Square works, written to be read. Where a signed contract exists between us, it governs; this page describes it.

What we do

Blue Square builds software to order, for anyone from one person to a large company: websites, an assistant that answers your phone and the chat on your site, a private app that runs your business, automations, and software made for one job. We build; you get results. We do not sell a do-it-yourself builder for you to make or change software yourself.

The setup guide and the specification

The guide ends in a specification you sign. Signing it asks us to consider the job; it costs nothing. We read the signed specification, never the raw answers. Within two business days we write back with one of three things: we would take it, with its price and the day you will see it; we need one call first; or we would not take it, with the reason in writing.

What we refuse

Any job that needs a licence to do, touches health data, moves other people's money, risks anyone's body, or whose failure would be a lawsuit rather than a loss; anything on Amazon; and any job that is in substance a do-it-yourself builder, a tool for you to make or change software yourself. A no comes with its reason.

Pay, then we build

Every order is paid at checkout on our website before the work starts. A plan's set-up and first month are paid at checkout. Work built to order is quoted in writing with a fixed price and a delivery date, and paid in full at checkout; a large project is paid in two halves, the first at checkout and the second before its next stage begins, so no work is ever done ahead of payment. A job outside our plans and parts begins with a discovery call of $500, the whole of it credited to the build if you go ahead, and refunded if we decline after the call.

Refunds

The monthly plans

The Site is $249 a month with $500 to set up; The Front Desk $449 a month with $750 to set up; The Whole House $749 a month with $2,500 to set up. The set-up and the first month are paid at checkout, and we start building when they arrive. The first month pays for your first month from the day you watch the build go live, and each month after is billed on that same day to the card you paid with. A plan runs twelve months from that day, then month to month. After the twelve months you end it at any time, by email or on the billing page, and it stops at the end of the month already paid. Within the twelve months you may leave by paying the months left. The site's files are yours to keep once you buy them out: $1,500 after the twelve months, or $1,500 and the months left before then. Our first ten clients take a fifth off the monthly price for their first year; the set-up is paid in full. Your domain, words, photographs and logo are always yours. A month in which your site or phone cover is down for more than 24 hours through our fault is not charged. A price change after the first twelve months comes with sixty days' notice. A plan unpaid for thirty days may be paused, never deleted.

The witness

Every build is shown working on your own systems, with you watching and us on the call, in about twenty minutes. A plan's first month, paid at checkout, starts the day it goes live. For a workflow you issue a scoped, short-lived credential yourself; we never hold a standing key to your business.

Rounds and previews

Two revision rounds are inside every build. A website lives at a preview address, behind a code, until it goes live; the preview is withdrawn fourteen days after the second round. Nothing is transferred before it is paid for in full.

What you own, and when

A site bought outright: once it is paid in full you own the website's files, copy, design and brand book outright, and it is deployed to hosting you hold within seven days or the payment is returned. The app is licensed to your one business, perpetual and non-transferable; the books are yours, in an open format on your machine, exportable at any time. Under a plan, the app's licence is yours for good once the first twelve months are paid. An automation runs for the months you pay for; when it stops, its specification and fixtures are yours.

After delivery

Fixes to anything the specification promised are free for thirty days, plan or no plan. A plan carries its own care. Outside a plan: site care is $79 a month (hosting, fixes and one change a month); app keeping is $149 a month (updates, fixes, one small change a month and a restore check from your own backup each quarter); an automation is $79 a month. Your hardware, operating system, internet, and anything outside the signed specification are not included; the last is quoted.

The phone cover and the chat

They say they are an AI at the start, and that the call is recorded and written out. They never take a card number, and they hand over to you whenever a caller asks. Recordings, transcripts and chats are kept thirty days for you to review, then deleted.

If we disagree

Whether a build does what was signed is measured against the signed specification and the proof's checks, re-run with you watching; the evidence decides.

Whose hand

Your systems are touched by your hand or by the owner of Blue Square, never by anyone else. Credentials are the three the contract names, issued by you, in your own store, revocable by you at any hour.

Responsibility

Our responsibility is capped at the fees paid for the job, or under a plan at the fees of the twelve months before a claim. We are not responsible for lost bookings or other consequential losses; a month free is the remedy for downtime. We are not responsible for data loss where the backup is yours and was tested at the witness. We carry no insurance; you insure your own business. The signed contract says this precisely.

The people who build

Blue Square's builders include AI systems working under a person's direction and review. Your specification and uploads pass to their provider under its terms for the length of the build; your customers' records never do.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Write to hello@bluesquare.works with any question.
