Privacy, in plain words

Updated 6 October 2026. Blue Square is a small studio. This page says what happens to what you tell us, in words rather than clauses. Write to hello@bluesquare.works with any question about it.

On this site

Nothing is collected while you read. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. This site sets a cookie in two places only, both for clients. A preview, opened with its code, keeps the code for fourteen days so you need not type it on every page. Your account, opened with the link in your welcome email, keeps that link's key on your device for a year so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. Neither holds anything else.

The setup guide and the five questions save your answers in your own browser's storage, on your device, so you can leave and return. Nothing leaves your device until you sign and send.

The type is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for the font files; Google's privacy policy governs that request. Everything else on this site is served by us.

When you send a specification

We receive the answers you signed, your name as you signed it, the email you gave us to write back to, the time, the country your connection reports, your browser's description, and a one-way scrambled form of your network address that we keep only to limit abuse (twenty arrivals an hour from one address). We do not keep the address itself.

Your specification waits on our platform provider (Cloudflare) for at most ninety days and is then deleted there. Our own copy lives on one machine, in Blue Square's own files, encrypted at rest.

It is read by the owner of Blue Square and by the systems that take part in the build, among them AI systems, under their provider's terms, for the length of the build. No record of your customers' is ever sent to them, and a client's books never leave the client's own machine.

Your account

When you become a client, your account at bluesquare.works/account holds what is between us: your name and your business's name, your plan and its price, where your build stands, the papers we have signed, and the requests you send us with our answers. It never holds your guests, your bookings or your books: those stay in your app on your own computer. Your account is kept on Cloudflare's servers, which also serve this site. Only you, with your link, and we can see it. If your link is lost or shared, tell us: we send a new one and the old one stops working at once. When your plan ends, your account closes and its papers are deleted from it; we keep our own copies as long as the next section says.

How long we keep it

If we refuse the job, your specification and anything you sent with it are deleted ninety days after the refusal. If we build for you, they are kept for the life of your plan and one year after, then deleted.

Your side

Ask at any time for a copy of what we hold about you, or for its deletion, by writing to hello@bluesquare.works from the address you gave; we answer within two business days and delete within ten, except what the law or an open contract requires us to keep.

Mail

Mail to hello@bluesquare.works is routed by Cloudflare's mail service to our mailbox. Letters are written and sent by a person.

Changes
